VALENTINE’S DAY INSTALLATION
2002
Installation, Performance, and Video

This collaborative live performance piece by Artists Amy Karle and Monica Duncan explored anticipation, antiquity, intimacy and memorials as constructions within an interactive installation. Small peep holes in the installation invite the viewer to glimpse both live and pre-recorded video of eyes, body parts, and handwritten text fragments while suggestive outlines of sensual movement filter through perforations of slowly-moving antique music scrolls. The video and sound portion aired on public access television in New York for the entire day of February 14 in conjunction with the live event.
